Living In Atlanta Pros & Cons
The Atlanta ECONOMY is booming!! Atlanta has a GDP of $385 Billion, it is the 10th largest economy in the United States and among the top 20 largest in the world. We have global headquarters such as, UPS, Southern Company, The Home Depot, The Coca-cola Company, Delta Airlines and countless others.
While the economy is a definite "Pro", it leads me to the biggest "Con" and that's TRAFFIC!! The Atlanta Region covers a vast territory - 18 counties - and people are driving the streets daily from one area to another because of work, family, social and various other reasons. It's always rush hour in Atlanta! A must to getting around efficiently while keeping your sanity is to learn multiple routes to your most traveled destinations! Don't just rely on GPS.
Atlanta is getting better at alternate forms of transportation such as MARTA, the Atlanta Beltline, The Path Foundation, etc but we aren't quite "there yet". The Beltline just announced plans to start surveying the Eastside Trail to make way for light rail which is a game changer for a grid locked City.
CLIMATE is a Pro for me. We have a true 4 seasons here with the coldest months being February and March typically. It can get really HOT and humid during the summer months so be prepared to sweat. The SUMMER HEAT is an absolute Con for some.
My last Con is being an ATLANTA PRO SPORTS FAN! The curse is real.
